Singer Sonu Nigam’s tweet regarding waking up to azaan stirred up a storm on social media. Since then many TV celebs like Divyanka Tripathi and Sunil Grover have come out in support of the singer with regard to his statement on the subject.
And now, Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hain actress Saumya Tandon shared her take on the issue on Twitter.
On Thursday, the actress tweeted this, supporting the singer: “you don’t need to scream and trouble others to prove how religious you are. @sonunigam agree. Let’s first learn to respect each other.”
She further clarified her stance that this is not in particular to any religion and tweeted, “And it’s not about a particular religion, I don’t support Ganesh Visarjan either, which spreads water pollution.”
Sonu Nigam’s sleep was disturbed by azaan on Monday morning and he expressed his irritation on Twitter. His tweets didn’t go down well with many but he remained firm on his stand. He recently shaved off his hair after a cleric announced a reward of Rs 10 lakh to anyone who would shave the singer’s hair, put a garland of torn shoes around his neck and parade him around India.
